Barn Find

I  had this  shot  set up  with a  full garage. All sorts  of things  in it to give the  ” barn find” effect, took around  20 shots and then zoomed  in for a close  up  and  realized  something..I  didn’t  need  all the  flash. I  took everything  out and  stuck to what I really  wanted to  show.
The Bolson Sagmeister tattoo is  simply  amazing. Its  unisex and also comes  in two forms one  for  peeps  that are still using an SL  avi body and  one with appliers  for  all the  mesh  bodies.  I think there has  only  been a few  times when   I  just  had to get a tattoo in a shot close enough   to see the  detail, and  this  is  one  of them.
I also wanted  to share  with you a  group gift thats available at  [SURPLUS MOTORS]. If  you  don’t  know  who  and what this  represents ima slap you. The  car was  made  famous  by James  Dean and  is  one  of the  most iconic  cars  in  history.  I did  take the  liberty to add a  bit  of  dirt   into the  picture, after  all it’s a  barn  find.  The  car in  itself  is  fantastic and  I am  always  happy  when I get the  notice that  they have  released another  car, weather  it  be a group gift  or  not. I can’t  wait to get this  beauty  out  of the  mess  it’s  in  now  and roar  down the  road.

The Fallen

Ok..who the hell talked me into doing a Fiver! They said it would be easy..it wasn’t.
I’m blaming every woman I know, Rhenu, Roxi, Cinder, Duchess and Mana to name a few.
I did have fun setting this up… but my God it took a while.
I normally go thru and say something about the pieces I chose for a shot…but the list is to long for this one.
I will say this Visit each event, The Hair fair, The Secret Affair and  The Countdown Room. Each are special in their own way. The Hair Fair in particular benefits Wigs For Kids. The dance

The Hair Fair is well underway and The Secret Affair opens tomorrow @ noon SLT. The Hair fair couldn’t have came at a better time, as I was due for some new hair for the upcoming events. I picked up a few..ok a lot of hairs that I can use for them and *Calico* made one that I’m sure I will be using. Nicely textured and doesn’t ” cut” much into whatever you decide to wear. I chose my FATEplay Feredir outfit, like all his clothing the textures just can’t be beat, as well as the fit. And it’s not overly bulky so most anything will fit over it. I’m also wearing the DRD Brynhild armor shoulders, Im always amazed at everything she makes and these didn’t disappoint. I believe the whole outfit came together once I added the .aisling. Valentine -Lace -Collar, ( Another Amazing item by the team there) the Luas Hamlet Mask, ( freakin awesome!) the Skinnery Masquerade Black Ink 12 ( which adds details to the eye’s and is unisex). last but not least is the BP sporran, I wear a kilt from time to time and have been looking for one of these for a long time..and this one is very very well made. ( I wouldn’t wear it otherwise) I know, I know it is suppose to be worn with a kilt, but..it fits the outfit so I added it. Stay tuned for more on the sporran later as I plan on giving it it’s proper place.

The Pianist

Ray Charles said “I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me-like food or water.”
Setting this Scene up reminded me of all the different kinds of Music I like from country to classical. My favorite Classical song came to mind ( Pachelbels Cannon In D ) so I looked it up and played it while I was taking the shot.

It also reminded me of my pops and the surprise we got the day of his funeral. My day was a country boy. A hillbilly some might say and whenever I visited him, and he actually played music it was always classic county radio. But..on the day of his funeral, when we were all expecting George Jones, Hank Williams Sr. or Johnny Cash we heard something totally out of the rhelm of what we thought my father liked. The next thing that came over the speakers was (Frank Sinatra’s I did it my way). We laughed, we cried..but most of all we learned that pops loved more than just country, and that he could still amaze us with yet…his last song.

In the land of Dragons

There are some great events going on right now.  The Hair Fair opened and people are flocking to the event, not only for hair but to donate a bit to WIGS For Kids which the event benefits . It’s A great event and a greater cause. Secondly The Secret affair opens soon with some of the best creators the grid has to offer. Another make sure you visit event!.

Today Im wearing the Amazing offering By PFC. it comes complete with a texture HUD that allows you to change the steel ,cloth textures and again..is pure heaven. I’m also wearing Emotions gift offering for The Hair Fair. The texture work and the way it fades is simply stunning. And while made for a woman, I found a use because one should not be hindered by such things.

True Friends

True friends come once in a lifetime, the friend that you can share your happiest moments with, along with the darkest.
Roxi is that friend for me, my confidant, my port in the storm, my glimmer of hope when all else fails.

But ,a few days ago… I failed her. I failed to believe she would be ok with me telling her the truth, telling her a secret I had been holding in hopes of not hurting her…I’ll explain.
She looks forward to the Hair fair, not only for the hairs, but what it stands for. Last year, and the year before, and the the year before that she has pretty much well spent the entire time the event was open…at the event. She just stands there and takes it all in, from the scenery to the massive amounts of people that go there from every walk of life in the world we call Second Life.
She spends thousands…no, tens of thousands on hair while the event is open. It’s a win win for her, not only does she get the most fabulous hair she also knows that most of what she spends go’s to a cause she holds dear to her heart.
This year was a bit different though, She had started a blog a few days before the event last year and decided to apply for the bloggers group. She waited and she watched the Hair Fair site for months, even getting ansy when the fair was getting close and the applications hadn’t been posted on the site. But, she knew that running such and event takes alot of work so she waited for them to be posted and then filled it out.

Now, comes my failure. when the bloggers for the event were given the invite to the group, she waited for 2 days she waited, doing nothing but crossing her fingers and looking at her screen. No shopping, no taking blog shots…nothing. She asked in groups if the invites had been sent out, she asked friends…she asked me….I said nothing. I had been sent an invite to the group.

You need to understand how much this woman means to me…everything. So I knew..I just knew that when I told her that I had gotten an invite it would crush her. Not because I was chosen and she wasn’t…but because thats the whole reason she started to blog, so she could share her own version of what the event means to her with friends and family, and complete strangers for that matter. I failed her, I failed her in so many ways I can’t count. But the biggest one..the most important one….I failed to believe in her, I failed to have enough faith in her, I failed to be her friend.

My father told me long ago ” Don’t ever say your sorry, saying that after the fact doesn’t make a bit of difference”…” It doesn’t make the thing you did right..it only causes more pain”
He went on to say ” Instead of being sorry…don’t do it to begin with and/or learn from the mistake”

This is what I’ve learned. I’ve learned that Roxi….Roxi, has More grace than I ever imagined. She has strength and willpower than I will ever have. She knows how to be a true friend….. and I can never thank her enough for that.

I will be blogging and giving more detail on both this, yet again Amazing collection offered by 8f8 @ The Seasons Story, and the greatest collection of Hair designers on the grid that are all in one place.. The Hair fair. For now though..well…it’s friends before pleasure.
