Helsinki

Hello  all,  6 republic  closes in a  few days..but  I still have  lots  to post  about!
Remember  in  my  last post I said you could build a  city with  the amount  of  items available there? Well this  is  more! I”m  telling  you the possibilities are  endless.

I was  scrolling  thru my  flickr the other day and  came  across Jeff Goodnight’s photo’s of what  he  did  with  the  MadPea build  from  the  event. You can  see his  photo here.
The  set up is  perfect and  theres  a lot more than  what  I  took a  picture  of. There  is  a  whole amusement  park complete with  rollercoasters,  bumper cars , a market and  of  course  his store. (I was  told the  store didn’t matter as long  as people enjoyed the sim.. what  a  guy!) you really owe it  to yourself to go have  a look around  and  who knows you might  be inspired  to make  your own  Helsinki.

Hanging on to History

 

Dotted across  the  U.S are  time capsules  of  days  gone  past, From the Cadillac  Ranch to Elmers Bottle  Ranch,  giant  sized  bovine and  balls  of  twine.  Themes  from  the wild  west  to  U.F.O’s nothing  was  off  limits. They  stand  today ( some  are  not  quite standing) as  a  living  memory to  those  that helped  form the  highway system.  Those were  the  glory  days  of  mom and  pop stores, motels  and  roadside  attractions. Sadly today they  are  mostly a  faded  memory  and  most  will  never  have  the chance  to  see them.
Little  is  known  about  the  little  spot  I  came  across  while  traveling  down  that  old  road. I wandered around  a  bit  only  to  find  a  few  scaps  of  paper and  ”  For  a  good  time  call Keiko Zoon 8675309″ scratched  all  over the  bathroom.

Ominous

The  house has  been  long abandoned and  sits  on the edge  of both  town and  falling  into the abyss, The  yard where  one  once  heard the  sounds  of  joyous children is  now said  to be  filled with their screams.
